Who is Francesco Fisotti ?
Francesco is a boy who grew up in a small town on the Adriatic Sea in Puglia, characterized by great international tourism and at the same time by the dynamics of average provincial life
Tell us about your new LP 'Aqua Viva' on Quattro Bambole Music ?
I'm not sure how to define the genre of Aqua Viva, it's dance but also hip hop and jazz. deals with the idea that water reacts to the vibrations of music in a conscious and healing way. Inside there is a lot of electronic music but also many musicians and singers. It's the mix of many experiences I've had over the years
What was the first thing that attracted you to the world of electronic music?
Like many teens I started to get passionate about music at very early age, My first concert was Sud Sound System in 1996, I was 10 years old. Soon I started to write and sing my own rap\ragga songs and I grew up in the local dancehalls. Afterwards, through digging and beatmaking I explored funk, jazz, progressive rock, library music, and after many years I entered the world of disco, house, dance music in general. it's been a long journey
Who are your greatest influences?
I have too many influences but i can tell 3 contemporary names :
MNDSGN
He inspires me for his versatility and creative power. He started making beats like me, sampling records and drums following the Dilla legacy, but he is a totally open minded artist, his last album is kind of jazz fusion with live instruments
JOLLY MARE
He comes from my own region in Italy. I am very fascinated by his equipment and the knowledge he puts in his music. He is very versatile as well and he combines the mediterranean sound with arabic, afro, abstract and cosmic influences.
CRACKAZAT
he has exactly what i like, a jazzy mind into the house and dance world. Fucking genius
How would you define your sound?
Adriatic Funk
What is the scene like in Italy at the moment?
I feel like in Italy we are living a new golden era of the italo house, disco, jazz, funk. There are lots of great producers, bands, djs, labels, musicians. Aura Safari, Periodica Records, dj Fede, Turbojazz, Dj Soch, Four Flies, Sam Ruffillo, Rebirth Music, Mondo Groove, Giovanni D'amico, Full Time Records, JayBee Vibes, Dario Bassolino, Stefano De Santis
What else can we expect from you over the next year?
I have lots of projects for my label Quattro Bambole Music, the new album of Issam Dahmani, arranged and mixed by me, the Gelato Italiano Series Vol.2, Moderna Sonorizzazioni series vol.2, New project by me and the singer Done and others and other
