(First of four dreams last night)
Driving along the BQE in Brooklyn I am in the passenger seat with a "friend" in the driver's seat. He isn't someone I recognize in real life but he resembles someone that I used to work with if he were about 30 years younger. We're engaged in conversation on the way to meet some other friends at a rock show when I realize that we're going way too fast. We're about to miss our turn-off.
I don't even have enough time to verbalize that to him when we hit the ramp and immediately go skidding off of it. Time goes slower and slower with every moment and I can see every bit of our fall. Through the trees, over the fence, brushing up against the building. The tires on one side get caught and the car begins to flip (slowly) onto the passenger side.
We're being thrown around like rag dolls but it feels like being caressed because it's so slow at this point. Feels more like zero gravity and is almost relaxing. My legs are hanging out the window and as the car begins the descent I realize that my legs are about to be crushed. I tuck my legs into my chest and the car skids for several yards in a parking lot before stopping.
My partner and I are both conscious and I struggle to help him out of the car. We are both aware that we have already died at some point and are now trying to figure out what to do. We decide that it would be immediately best to step away from the car since it seems that it will be blowing up soon. But then we're not sure whether we should go to the show. We're not sure if we should wait there to be taken somewhere else.
It isn't so much a feeling of fear but of mild bewilderment. Like there's a list of things that are supposed to happen and we lost the list. He starts to walk away and I just look around at everything like I am looking at it for the first time.
