"Going Greek" by Phantom Slasher from EP

I don't normally buy new records or re-edits, but i found this ep used. what the idjuts did to the demis roussos track is pretty nice, and so different than the original.

"Aisha" by Aisha Kandishas Jarring Effects from El Buya

the first album by these guys is amazing psychedelic moroccan music w/fuzzed out delayed effects and early sampling, but then bill laswell got ahold of them and you know what can happen when he touches something... i only heard their second album once maybe 10 years ago and it was kinda generic world techno. (still have a soft spot for a lot of his stuff). this track's epic though

"Dali" by Bernard Fevre from The Strange World Of Bernard Fevre

been listening to that Library mix by Jess over and over and every time the song around 15 minutes would come on I'd kick myself because I knew what it was but couldnt' place it, until it came on random on the computer today. so amazing.

"Last Summer In Rio" by Azymuth from Telecommunications

i dunno, with such musical ADD and easy access to music anymore, i don't listen to many albums more than once or twice. especially if i download them. but it's really opened my tastes. only a few years ago i wouldn't have listened to "disco" or "new age". call something cosmic or balearic and the hipsters will like it, no? but with age comes maturity and now i'm finding myself even digging smooth jazz. call it what you will, but sometimes you just want to chill and this song is really calming my nerves.
