"Oddball Mix" by Various from stacks of waks

Had to let you know about this, weird folk and pop from the 60s and 70s all made in Holland.

"One More Chance" by Shirley Lawson from The Reissue

Crisp like a fizzy drink. This just moved way up in my top 100 of all time. Tried and tested on both rainy and sunny days.

"Johnny" by Vaya Con Dios from S/T

A voice told bassist Dirk Schoufs to mix rockabilly exotica, pop and mediterranean influences. It led to millions of shifted units in southern Europe. The needle did the damage and he would never hear his band watering down their sound...

"Alphabet" by Brian Ritchie from The Blend

I noticed this was on the flip of a Sun Ra 12". The bassist of Violent Femmes going solo on Greg Ginn's label. And that's exactly what you get .

The end is near... Where else but Berlin to celebrate.

"5 Minutes Of Funk" by Whodini from Escape

From an era long gone by, stone cold rap machines that sold warehouses full of records .

 "Falling" by Linkwood from System

Sad to say that after all the dope 10"'s, in 6 months the album will be in the bargain bins next to triphop from 1995 safe for this jam.

"Mo' Bounce" by Tim Love Lee from Confessions Of A Selector

This made me change my musical taste for ever during the big beat fad, finally realising funk was more than the Shaft soundtrack. I remember Tim coming on national radio talking about never fully recovering from the Rio De Janeiro carnival and thus staying in Brazil for months. I recently lost that tape but he was all over the place, Deep Purple, Johnny Harris, Colonel Abrams, Idjut Boys, sheesh... This album's got really common ingredients but it's one sexy stew.

"Stormy Seas" by Meteors from 7"

What a treat: so many elements stuffed into one pop song. Just let it flow .

"Inca Picnic" by Salaryman from S/T

Attack of the Tortoise clones...
