"All" by US Maple from Long Hair in Three Stages

14 years old now this album - quick little revisit. . . great mumbly vocals and totally satisfying when they actually link up and seem to play together. rawk .

"ALL" by Various from Darker Than Blue

"All" by Michael Jackson from All

going to have to get creative tonight at work and come up with an honorary MJ cocktail. might even request related tunes played all night. . . might get a little heavy if we do that though . . . could easily see folks tearing up after a few cocktails tonight.

"Seed of Memory" by Terry Reid from Seed of Memory

yet another late-night, jet-lag, movie soundtrack song discovery. . . only way i was really ever going to watch "The Devil's Rejects" was if it came on the TV 3:30 as i was suffering from jet lag. . . guess what. . . it's better than you might imagine. Guess rockers making movies is a better transition than movie makers rocking - keanu, bruno (aka bruce) etc. lots of this country rocking road trip tunes helping along a movie essentially about a murderous road trip through texas. but nicely surpised after hearing plenty of allman bros and freebird to hear a flute-tastic slow groover like this as the credits rolled around 5am. hunted it down and havent stopped rocking it. whole album really ruling. forgot to put yesterdays totd in the g but will today. . . along with this jam.

"Erare Humanum Est" by Jorge Ben from A Tábua de Esmeralda

worst bout of jetlag ever last week; compounded by the side effects of my late night career choice led to me catching a documentary about brazil on the the sundance channel late one night. Manda Bala is evidently pretty fictional but it's also pretty captivating. . . soundtrack is especially incongruent but somehow it works - lots of great, happy (seemingly so as i cant understand a word of mumbly portugese) tropical, brazil jams play while a plastic surgeon constructs an artificial ear for a woman who lost her it to some ruthless kidnapper. got me on a mad hunt for the soundtrack. . . evidently they couldnt afford to license all the tunes so it doesnt exist. luckily this guy has not only listed all the tracks but he made a (chronological?) mix of all the tunes. this tune isn't on there but is a stand out track from one of the albums i hunted down. you can hunt down this tune in the gmail.

"Summertime Clothes" by Animal Collective from Merriweather Post Pavillion

big animal collective kick all of a sudden. this chugging kompakt boah is probably the song that got me hunting for every last mp3 when i heard it playing at everyone's favorite SF alleyway coffee shop. way too hip. . .

"Troubles" by Keith Hudson from Nuh Skin Up

straightforward deepness from jah hudson. pretty much two lines in this song. . . 'troubles. . . ' and 'i got up this morning, the first person i met was the devil.' such the style on introducing the organ all dry then jamming the reverb on it - almost like the organ is smoking and suddenly there's this haze of smoke in the studio. in the gmail.

"Live in the City" by Horace Andy from Wackie's Sampler Volume 3

Dark, twisted, slo groover with Horace singing all over the register. . . deep and menacing one second switches to a creepy falsetto with a slow vibrato. provided a nice soundtrack to 3 cold, dark nights in the desert. In the gmail.
