i kind of hate it when people go crazy working the eq in an edit - like they are rocking it live on the dancefloor. this one does that a little bit but it's not terrible and other than that i really like it. nice use of repetition and doesn't succumb to the less-is-less problem that happens a lot. lots of nice squiggly noises superimposed too.

loda turned me on to this record when we were driving around in his car. oddball jazz-funk stylings from simonetti and co. actually this one has more of a cinematic feel than some of the others. jazzier-funkier over here.

"Live It Up (Parts 1 & 2)" by Isleys from Live It Up
TTTTT to ron and mardu for killing it at dazzle ships last night. hopefully mardu isn't too much the worse for wear waking up for teachings today!
was driving home afterwards and this track came on the shuffle. had no idea what it was but had to re-bust and then re-re-bust again. nicest progression from vocals in beginning to all out jam in the second half. guitar solo that sounds like it's got some ring modulation going on...and really, who can argue with the theme.
originally grabbed it from art decade. didn't that guy used come around here a bit?
