"Leprachaun remix" by unsure
from single
If you haven't seen this video yet, it's maybe the best and worst thing i've seen in a long time. Leprechaun city!
Well someone i want to hang out with got crunk and remixed some of the sound bytes and it's a total jam!
Listen to this shit right here.
I want the gold. gimme the gold. could be a crack head!
"Turbo Dreams" by Ellen Allien & Apparat
from Orchestra of Bubbles
I have to review this record and the minute I saw it was Apparat i was stoked. I love that dude. He's part owner of the best named label ever: Shitkatapult. This album has a lot of vocals, but this lead-off cut is straight Pole-esque dub sans vocals and i really like. Apparat adds his twist to it and it seems to work out nice.
Turbo Dreams
p.s. i'm going to The National tonight. pretty happy about that too!
"Touch Me" by Spankrock
from YOYOYOYO
TOUCH ME!!!!!!
This has been my jam for a few days now. It's weird because i'm not super into this style, but as i said yesterday, "i don't hate anything as long is it's done right." and this song will tear apart anyone on the dance floor right now. it seems to be up Co-Worker's alley, but i am probably wrong. anyway, jam central in my eyes.
"Winter's Wolves" by The Sword
from Age Of Winters
I have been into metal so much lately! High on Fire, Mastodon...i even have a Slayer DVD at my house that is insane! I just don't get the same feeling from music as i do from metal. Nothing can compare to it. So when bands like the Sword come out with their nasty ass distortion, dark overlord drums and howling vocals, it just makes me happy as a little lamb. A little lamb eating its young!!!

"Elevated Mood" by Duplex
from Late Night Driving
Sound Clip Central.
I haven't heard anything like this in a while. Force Tracks started to change up their game a lot and so did I really. I was more into the electro-tech-disco stuff than the MRI, Crane A.K. and Ben Wild's of the world. But listening to this again made me want to take all those cuts out again and enjoy. I love the wha wha wha's with the driving beats. It's really good. check it out.
"Black History Month (Sammy Danger Remix)" by Death from Above 1979
from some video...
I honestly can't get enough of these bastards. It's too bad i missed them when they came through LA. kinda pissed about it actually. so, i got this video from Earplug newsletter today adn it's been on repeat so much firefox is probably a little overwhelmed, telling me to go look at porn again to free up some memory.
Check it out: Black History Month (Sammy Danger Remix)
"Fit Black Man" by Skeletons + The Girl-Faced Boys
from Ghostly's Idol Tryouts Two
Fit Black Man is my track of the month. It's on the upcoming Idol Tryouts Two from Ghostly. I can't believe how rad this label is. It's just so nice to have a compilation with Daniel Wang, Matthew Dear AND Outputmessage. it seems so odd, but it works perfectly. Along with Kill Memory Crash, Skeletons saved their best work for this compilation. The vocals are so catchy and it's so layered and crazy with a sweet bassline and one one those keyboards that you blow into--well that's what it sounds like at least. and at times you feel stuck in a pac-man machine getting chased by ghosts. check it out it's rad.
"Deadweight on Velveteen" by Jose Gonzalez
from Veneer
Listen to Deadweight on Velveteen.
I don't know what to do. I feel like my life has been altered in some way that i can't quite figure out. This album is running through my veins more than Patron and Jameson combined. it's the most beautiful record i've heard since, well, Takk, but before that, i don't know. i could go on and on about this record, but, for now, i'm at a loss for words. all i can do is try to get the word out. as James put it, "this dude is gonna be huge!"
Jonathan, where are you man?????

"Crosses" by Jose Gonzalez
from Veneer
Download Crosses.
After watching that amazing Bravia Commercial 50 times in a row i had to find out who it was that sang the song. After some google sleuthing it turns out to be Jose Gonzalez. I have never heard of him, but that song is the Pink Moon of our day. I downloaded the record and it's been on repeat for 2 days. he reminds me of a better Drake/Donovan/Banhart.
i have burned the cd 5 times for people so far and have sent via IM another 5. I want this record to spread like the plague, infecting listeners as it did me. i am officially an addict of this record.
if you miss this one, i'm posting a track a day until i leave for Montreal on Thursday. Thanks!
just wait til you hear Deadweight on Velveteen, Lovestain and Hints.

"Queen of Apology" by The Sounds
from Dying To Say This To You
This album is so on the verge of teen pop music, but something about it makes me happy. actually, i really think the singer's voice is sexy! this band sounds like a revival of Missing Persons or whatever. the album is pretty interesting--fun, kooky, dancey. i'm gonna see them on Saturday i believe, so we'll see how whack they are live.
