"Everybody Loves the Sunshine" by Roy Ayers Ubiquity
from Everybody Loves the Sunshine
This was posted before, sorry folks, but that was more then 4 years ago.... plus I've got some good reasons to post it again:
- it's a great track
- finally got the original LP in today, I totally forgot how good this album actually is, Roy was a genius back in the day
- spring finally seems to break loose up here in Holland... it's about time
So:
TOTD
"Sometimes" by Billy Foster & Audio
from S/T
On Equistar records from Gary Indiana comes this disco groover with a jazzy touch.
That jazz guitar doesn't necessarily make it better I think, but still a pleasure to listen to.
"New Anniversary Waltz" by Potter & Tillman
from Space...Rapture
Another track from the excellent Potter & Tillman LP, starts of very nice but it really takes off halfway.
"Sly, Slick & the Wicked" by The Lost Generation
from The Sly, Slick & the Wicked
I love those echoes... wicked wicked wicked
"Soulful Love" by Cecil Holmes
from Music For Soulful Lovers
Just relax.... and come with me.... just let yourself go
"La Ville" by Ahmed Malek
from Musique Original de Films
Ahmed Malek is a soundtrack composer from Algeria, making music for North African movies ... this sounds really good, more where that came from.
"Watching the Sea" by Velvet Universe
from Voyager
Last week I posted another track from this Velvet Universe LP that I got, I just gave it a short listen then. This one is by far the best track of the LP, very deep... I'm in the VU-voyager, taking a deep space trip.
"Fight With A Vision" by Velvet Universe
from Voyager
Not to much to say here, just listen to these German spacemen.
Mike Oldfield 'wunsches Erfolg' on the cover, I guess his buddies did pretty well.
"A Passing Glance" by Ben Cooper and his Orchestra
from Mozart Edition 108
English library label I never heard of, all the tracks seem to be written by Germans though (Weise, Wefelmeyer, Mohle... ).
Heard a small snippet of this track, found it for cheap and thought: how bad can it be really? It turned out very well, this has been growing on me the last couple of hours.
