Daniel Lanois is best known as a superproducer. His list of production credits is miles long and he was at the helm for some legendary records. Brian Eno, Peter Gabriel and U2 are starting places for the list. His own records are pretty awesome, too. He just finished a new one with his Black Dub project and was ready to tour, but he was in a motorcycle accident three weeks back that left him in bad shape, so tours are canceled for now. Shine was released just a few years ago and has some real gems on it. JJ Leaves LA is the closing track and is a solo pedal steel showcase.
