This is one of my favorite Vangelis lps and it is not an official release. This was recorded in London in 1971 and not released until 1978 by Charly Records. Vangelis sued to keep it off the market and was successful. So, this is a bootleg. Not sure why a gorgeous tune like this would embarrass Mr. Papathanassiou, maybe it was just principals. This is my favorite tune on the lp which is still findable for fairly reasonable prices considering the rarity of the og. The compositions on The Dragon have more in common with tracks on Vangelis' "Earth" and the Aphrodites Child lp, "666" than with Vangelis' more commonly known records, more progressive rock than ambiente or new age.
