Alex Cima "Lithium" from Music from the 21st Century

I've always been a bit curious about this compilation. That super baked cover kind of pulls on the imagination. I had heard there were some good unreleased tracks on this record, but didn't realize they were by Alex Cima. Just got a sealed copy (at least it was when it arrived) on ebay and my curiosity is satisfied and then some. First side has an intro by Richard Burmer then a long track by TD. Side 2 starts with an Alex Cima track followed by tracks by Steve Roach, Don Preston (Frank Zappa plays drums! on this one), Neil Norman, Michael Garrison, and Bruce Curtois. There is a second track by Alex Cima on side 2 and this is it. Had to pitch this one down a bit (still going 90) but it is easily the TOTD on this record. Synths, vocoder and electric stick, plus some very tasty drumming. Lithium

And Bin: the chris craft -btw- is not soooo sick. The cover is the best thing about it. Thank god i have a Sarr Band album with the same artwork, keeps me away from paying 200 for the discosmic madness |

The other Cima track is called Primera. It's also on Cosmic Connection from '79. That's one of his hardest records to find. Turns out Lithium was the only unreleased Cima track on this comp, but there are a couple others by Don Preston and Neil Norman that are only on this comp. It's worth hunting down . . . |
