Not sure where I got this CD but it's a phenomenal collection of James Brown classics. I'm pretty sure someone insisted that I buy it and sure enough it ended up being one of those CDs that just gets a lot of time in the player. Like most of the jams on this comp, Licking Stick fades out way too early for me, but the opening 10 seconds are just so perfect. Mr Brown also has some great lines (other than the chorus!), for instance: "people standing, standing in a trance. sister's out the backyard doing her outside dance..."
