he's easily hooked up to the cable along running along side the trail there btw.

It doesn't look like you could use that cable continuously. There are parts where it comes to attachment points where you'd have to unhook and re-hook.

Not to say there wasn't another cable overhead.

yeah if you watch the video where there's the dude in front of him and the rock wall is on the left, the dude is hooking and re-hooking his hook.
